Knovel offers an online, aggregated collection of over 800 science/engineering reference titles. Some of their publishing partners are Elsevier, Wiley, Springer, and McGraw Hill. What separates Knovel from any other online database, is the functionality software that they have embedded into the reference books, helping students find data faster and apply it more productively.
  • Knovel is offering an across the board 25% discount on list pricing for all interested libraries.
  • Any member libraries currently subscribing can receive the same discounts on any added content they may wish to subscribe to (as well as renewing their subscriptions to Knovel through ESIG).
  • Pricing is based on the number of end users in the applied fields. Each participating ESIG library will be classified at the 150-500 end user level.
  • The renewal increase will be capped at 5%. It is usually ranges from 8%-10%.
  • The subscription term is a rolling 12 month period.
  • The Library is a dynamic collection, with 12-15 titles added each month. Titles are added based on end user recommendations, which means you help shape the product that you want. Please note, there are no individual title subscriptions.
  • Academic accounts are completely unlocked accounts, meaning any number of NELINET/ESIG end users can use the site concurrently. They can use IP recognition for all campuses, as well as any proxy server access the University may use
  • Knovel offers Free MARC records through OCLC. Knovel incurs any and all costs associated with delivery of these records to the University
  • Free onsite and Webex training sessions.
  • Knovel also generates monthly activity reports to show the libraries how often the site is being used and what areas of interest are drawing the most interest from the community
