2007 Proposal for the ESIG Consortium
This is a Blackwell Publishing 3 year offer for the ESIG Consortium, starting from the 1st of January 2007 to 31st of December 2009.

The ESIG offer is for our 3 collections:
  • HSS – Humanities and Social Sciences
  • STM – Science, Technology and Medicine
  • Full Collection – HSS + STM

The offer is:

  • Every member maintains their subscription base
  • Members may pick and choose whatever collection is right for their users
  • Pricing is based upon size of the institution’s main site
  • Existing members will have their collection fee capped at 6% in 2007, 2008 & 2009
  • Early Adopter members joining for a September 1st start date will also receive a 6% collection cap for 2007, 2008 & 2009
  • New members joining in 2007 will join at full 2007 collection prices and the cap for the collection will be applied for year 2 & 3 (2008 & 2009)
  • This offer allows institutions to save 5% on their subscription spend by converting their standard subscriptions to electronic only
  • E-only offers are based on the subscription price list for the year of the conversion, in this case 2007. Subscription cap will be 6% for 2008 & 2009 and will apply for existing members in 2007
  • All current subscriptions, including duplicates, need to be converted in order for the institutions to qualify for the Flip offer. Members can keep a small number of titles in print format if they require the print copy or they can opt to convert to electronic only and purchase the print at the DDP rate of 20%.
  • Print for titles included in each members’ collection of choice can be purchased at a DDP of 20% of the print price list by each member
  • Archive print copy for central location is available at 15% of the catalogue price
  • When flipping subscriptions in 2007 the electronic journals can be purchased through a maximum of 2 agents or directly via Blackwell
  • Titles in the subscribed to collection will be fixed and based on the respective 2006 collection
  • Journals will be available for access via the Blackwell platform, Synergy
  • All members that would like to move forward and Flip in January 2007 must notify us by September 8, 2006.
  • Opt out: each year members may opt out of the agreement without penalties to the consortium and the individual member
